Daphne C. Miller KANE Daphne C. Miller, 96, of 208 W. 12th St., Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly, and formerly of Walnut Street, Kane, died Friday (March 27, 2015) at her residence. Born May 12, 1918, in Smethport, she was a daughter of the late Orlo and Carrie Washburn Cory. On December 3, 1940, in Kane, she married Paul J.Miller who preceded her in death. Daphne was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star # 165 Kane Chapter. She had worked at Stackpole in Kane. Surviving are a daughter Penelope "Penny" (Tom) Rusnak of Georgetown, KY; four grandchildren, Jeremy(Kristin) Anderson, Bethany (Robert) Chaffee, Bradley (Angela) Rusnak, Jennifer Rusnak Vinson; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grand-children; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by four sisters, Edith Thomas, Frances Cleveland, Onalee Cory, and Esther Chiaramonte; and five brothers, Franklin Cory, Alvin Cory, Jack Cory, Wayne Cory and Ernest Cory. Friends will be received Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. William R. LaVelle Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
