Edward J. Parana
Edward J. Parana, 76, of North Cornwall Township, Lebanon and formerly of Kane, passed away peacefully on Monday (October 6, 2014) with his loving family by his side.
Born January 2, 1938, in Wilcox, he was a son of the late John and Anna Bedner Parana. On August 16, 1958, he married Gayle A. Koza who survives.
Ed was employed as an equipment operator for United Natural Gas Co. from which he retired in 1997 following 35 years of faithful service.
He was a member of St. Callistus Church, the Kane Country Club and the Kane Elks #329. His ever-present smile reflected his kind nature and zest for life. He loved his family beyond measure and will be missed dearly.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Gayle, of Lebanon, are two daughters, Debra (David) Trask and Janet Ewing; a son, Eric (Kim) Parana; eleven grandchildren, Andrew, Austin and Peter Trask, Lydia and Naomi Ewing, and Elle, Evan, Alan, Ian, Michael and Max Parana; and two sisters, Betty Agens and Caroline Swedenhjelm, both of Kane.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Doug Ewing; three brothers, John, Andrew and William Parana; and two sisters, Margaret Constable and Irene Peterson.
Friends will be received at the gathering space at St. Callistus Church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.
